Muddy puddles!

Nursery made the most of the rainy weather! We pulled on our wellies and waterproofs and went in search of puddles! A good time was had by all!

Harvesting our carrots

We pulled on our waterproofs and wellies this morning and joined Mrs Rickett for some gardening fun. We pulled and we pulled and out popped the carrots! Some were orange and some were purple. When we got back to our garden we filled our tray with water and gave them a good scrub!  Some of the carrots were funny shapes and made us laugh!
One of our children has Guinea pigs at home and took the carrot tops to feed to them.

Making the most of the sunshine

Nursery have been making the most of the lovely weather and have enjoyed exploring the school grounds. We have particularly enjoyed visiting the animals and the poly tunnel where we are growing some fruit and vegetables. We are keeping our fingers crossed for some dry weather next week as we plan on putting our wellies on and heading off for some digging in the vegetable garden.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to Nursery for the Autumn Term.  We hope that you all had a lovely summer.  We have enjoyed hearing about your holiday adventures at circle time. A very warm welcome to our new families. We are coming to the end of our second week back and wanted to let you all know that we are absolutely thrilled with how the children are settling in, with hardly any tears at all!  The weather has been kind this week and the children have had a great time exploring in the nursery garden and school grounds.  The children have enjoyed collecting vegetables and chopping them up, using safety knives, to make pasta salad.  We decided to buy some little tubs to use for our cooking in Early Years rather than using lots of food bags and would be grateful if you would kindly wash any tubs that come home and return them to Nursery at your child's next session. Small changes that we all make will help make a difference to our children's future.

Our theme this half term is Home Sweet Home which gives us the chance to really get to know your children. We are putting together our All About Me books, they grow with your child throughout the year. Please send / email any photos from home to your child's keyworker to add to the book, for example,  when you have been somewhere special / had a trip to the park / baked a cake together etc.  Keyworker groups are currently being decided and should be finalised within the next week or so, we prefer the children to choose their adult rather than the other way around!

Staff email address are as follows:

alex.forman@copthill.com (class teacher and keyworker)
sarah.nelson@copthill.com (keyworker)
